This system continuously computes the apparent volume of bulk goods on the belt conveyor with no contact. Using a laser scanner, a serial cross-section of soil (bulk) carried on a belt conveyor scanned at high speed in order to compute the apparent volume.
1. Non-contact measurement by a laser scanner
Because a non-contact laser scanner is used, soil volume can be measured with a high level of precision compared with photographic surveying and other measurement methods.
2. Real time continuous measurement
Because continuous measurement in real time can be done, the soil on the belt conveyor can be measured serially.
3. Use with screw conveyor rotation and earth pressure gauges
Soil volume calculation results obtained from this system can be coordinated with soil volume calculation results obtained from screw conveyor rotation and earth pressure gauges.
